‘So Fresh Market’ to Bring Fresh Food, Community Fun to Del Amo Fashion Center as it Gives Back to the Community
Unique open-air, community market will provide fruits and vegetables, local cuisine, natural foods, creative meal ideas and free local entertainment every weekend this summer, beginning April 25 and celebrating its Grand Opening on May 2
Torrance, Calif., April 20, 2009 – On Saturday, May 2, Del Amo Fashion Center will welcome ‘So Fresh Market,’ a revolutionary open-air community market committed to providing a new, unique way for local patrons to eat, shop, learn – and perhaps most importantly, an opportunity to give back. Each weekend into the fall, So Fresh Market promises to add to the shopping experience at Del Amo by providing a venue where area families can experience the freshest foods, learn expert cooking tips and meal ideas, enjoy local entertainment and give back to the communities in which they live.
“We are committed to working with Del Amo Fashion Center to provide a unique, community atmosphere that will re-establish shopping for and preparing fresh food as an experience in people’s lives, rather than a chore,” said Dan’l Mackey Almy, Marketing Spokesperson for So Fresh Market. “In addition to finding delicious foods at great value, So Fresh gives families an excuse to get out and have some good, old-fashioned fun.”
The innovative open-air market experience will include:
- A wide range of peak-of-the-season fruit and vegetables at great values
- An opportunity to get expert advice on products and preparation
- Onsite cooking demonstrations
- Tasty, freshly prepared cuisine
- Simple, healthy and affordable meal ideas
- Live performances by local artists ranging from music to dance
- Other forms of family entertainment
In addition to providing an economical, community gathering place for all ages, a large percentage of all profits generated by So Fresh Market will go directly back to the local communities they serve.
“We are thrilled to be a partner in this incredible community-driven endeavor,” said Jeff McLaughlin, Director of Marketing and Business Development at Del Amo. “Not only will So Fresh Market provide an exciting, affordable way for families to connect and enjoy themselves this summer, it’s also allowing a way for all of us to give something back.”
So Fresh Market, located between Madrona and Hawthorne adjacent to the northern parking deck of the mall, will be open for business every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning April 25, 2009.
